Tomb or the womb?

What if this is not the darkness of the tomb but the darkness of the womb? -Valerie Kaur

This striking quote often comes to mind around the spring equinox and Easter. New beginnings. If you live in a cold climate, the last days of winter can feel like a lonely, dark waiting room that you’ve been sitting in for months. Our lives are always reflecting nature. I have a “final days of winter” experience in many areas of my life throughout the year at varying times. The waiting room can be boring, exhausting and even excruciating.
"Why am I still here? I’m always waiting! Nothing will ever change." 😩

Don't take score too soon. You don't know what is being rearranged, reconfigured, prepared and built up for your highest good and greatest intentions while you are in the waiting room. There are so many moving parts involved that we simply can't know (and fortunately, we don't have to). I find that once I give into the wait and embrace the present moment (while also knowing it won't last) and stop trying to figure things out, whatever arrives afterwards is so much more creative, wonderful and better than expected. Most importantly, it's always exactly what I need (even if I don't recognize that fact in the exact moment it arrives).

Give yourself some grace if you are feeling impatient about your goals actualizing. That's ok. Give yourself some grace if you are feeling hopeless and so tired of waiting on someone. It does suck and it can feel very much like a dark tomb. Gestation of a seed or a human is tedious, slow and sometimes painful. You're not doing anything wrong. It's just how nature and life operates. Remember, pain is normal and part of life but suffering is optional. How we think about the pain or the waiting is what causes the suffering.

You are a beautiful vessel of creative energy with the power to birth the life you want. You are made for this. You belong here.
